Where your family finds what it needs to follow your child's day at the project.
When your child joins Pequena Tribo, they become part of a real tribe — a group that looks after each other, plays together, learns to name what it feels and grows up together. Here you can read, without rushing, what your child's day with us looks like: the routine, the meals, the care and how to talk to our team whenever you need.
Pequena Tribo is a free program for children aged 6 to 10. In the half of the day when your child is not at school, they are with us — and the care is complete: meals, help with schoolwork, workshops, time to move and time to be quiet.
The project is about much more than filling the hours. It works on each child's self-knowledge and social and emotional skills: learning to get organized, to get along with others, to deal with frustration and to speak up. All of it in a light way, inside the daily routine and the games.
The routine is planned with care so that each child knows what comes next and feels safe — and every moment has a purpose. Groups are organized by age: Curumim (6 to 8 years old, in the morning) and Guri (8 to 10 years old, in the afternoon).
The child arrives, is welcomed by the team and has the first meal of the day. A calm, unhurried start to settle into the group.
Educators and children plan the day together, sit in a circle to talk about how they are feeling and agree on the rules for the day. The Hora da Tribo is made up of:
An activity built around a board with every child's name on it. Each child picks a feeling to stand for their day. The point is to widen their emotional vocabulary, to notice how strong a feeling is and to build empathy for what others feel.
The motto "Pequena Tribo, one for all and all for one!" is inspired by old traditions of battle and celebration from many cultures. It creates a group identity, brings everyone together, lifts spirits and shows strength and pride.
Every day the educator tells one episode of the story, changing the tone, volume and rhythm of their voice to bring out the emotions, build suspense and capture the children's imagination.
The "Emocionário" is a book shaped like a dictionary that explains emotions in simple, illustrated language, helping children understand and express what they feel. It helps them recognize, name and handle their emotions, and understand themselves and others better.
Children do their schoolwork here, with help from the educators and interns — which frees up time at home for the family to be together.
In the day's workshop (Rhythm and Movement, Body and Mind Connection, Creative Expression, Sound Experiences and the Surprise Workshop), children learn in a livelier, hands-on way. They build skills, share experiences, work as a team and are invited to think for themselves. Along the way they take care of their bodies, their creativity and their self-knowledge — and discover talents.
Play time led by the interns, built around traditional games linked to the culture or the story the group is working on. Circle songs, hopscotch, skipping rope — games that bring fun and lightness.
Being aware and present in the moment, without judging. Children are invited to practice conscious breathing, visualization and relaxation. It helps lower stress and anxiety, improves focus and concentration and supports emotional well-being.
It is during rest that the brain sorts and stores what it has learned. Rest helps the learning settle, brings energy back and keeps children from getting overloaded.
Learning to recognize and name emotions is the heart of the project. That is why some moments of the routine exist just for that:
The goal is not for a child to "stop feeling", but to understand what they feel and learn how to deal with it — a tool for life.
At our own building, each child gets two meals a day, cooked with care in the project's kitchen. Food is part of caring for the whole child: a well-fed child learns, plays and gets along better.
Hygiene comes into the routine naturally too — brushing teeth after meals is one of the agreements of the day, taught gently as part of looking after yourself.
The family is part of the tribe. Our team keeps an open line to talk about how your child is doing, answer questions and agree on what matters. You can reach us whenever you need.
You can enroll your child in person at our building or by phone on +55 24 98107-3870. Talk to the team to find out about places and hours at each site.
